Washington D.C. Highlights

Got into Virginia friday night and just looked over our plans then smashed eachother on Super Smash Brothers. Saturday we took in the Mall of DC. Unfortunately everything was either wardened off or it was just too crowded. The main spots were the Smithsonian Air and Space museum and Natural History museum. Very fascinating. Wish we spent some more time there. There were so many things to see, I can't even recall them. We tried the fighter jet simulator but my co-pilot had a [...]

Off to Virginia

Since it was July 4rth, and my heart felt the need to pay respect to this fabulous country, I am going to celebrate July 4rth weekend in our nation's capital. Okay fine, I'm not good at telling jokes. Anyways, my brother and I are visiting our other brother in Virginia. (Can you keep count of the Brothers Miranda?) Should be a nice getaway. All packed and leaving in a little bit. If you need to get in contact with me, email, of course it [...]

The Detroit in "Detroit Basketball"

Against my better judgement I stayed up last night to watch the Pistons vs. Spurs championship game. And to Detroit's misfortune, the Pistons lost. Yesterday I was talking with my boss, and I was asked who I thought would win. In my complete lack of basketball background, I said that the Spurs would win. Disappointed with my response I had to offer an explanation. I reasoned that for whatever reason, the little I saw the Spurs play in the NBA playoffs they seemed to [...]

Overload

I've been overloaded with physical work for the past 3 weeks or so. This weekend wasn't much better, I'm not saying it was all bad, but there is only so much stress the body can take. Work's been busy too. On the tech side, I've been devoting a lot of time to my Resource pages, I've noticed a 100% spike in traffic for the last week. Which really brings me to my issue (just one?). If you start "profiting" from your hobby, does it [...]

Accomplishments in Life

I remember reading somewhere that the greatest minds put forth their most significant accomplishments before the age of 30. I'm no Einstein, but I don't need to be to see that the potential of my youth is being wasted away. And I don't know what I'm doing. I know I could possibly take some risks or be more aggressive but I just can't seem to find it in me. Sometimes when the sure bet is very convenient it's very hard to find the motivation [...]

The New Homes in Ann Arbor

I had a conversation with some co-workers recently about how some neighborhoods use intimidation and coercion to make some of their denizens comply to their standards or force them to move out. Some of the more egregious incidents were with Arabs in a white community or a Christian in a liberal community. Anyways, the reason I bring this up is because the housing that was so apposed by the wealthy community in NE Ann Arbor is finally near completion. To those who read my [...]

The Holy Father

I feel compelled to note the passing of Pope John Paul. May he rest in peace. We run like a river Run to the sea We run like a river to the [...]

More Hum Drum

I had a really good blog entry a few days ago about the issues with musicians and sampling other music. It took about 1 1/2 hours to write up with a good deal of internet research. Then the moment before I was about to publish it, I hit some link or something and trashed the whole thing. I'm too lazy to redo it, but I'm still upset over it. ... In an unrelated event last thursday, my brother was doing some testing on a [...]
